| Description: |
Perennials, usually 13–35 (–50) cm tall, caespitose to loosely caespitose. Basal leaves usually few, c. 7–11 cm long, c. 3.5–5 mm wide; cauline leaves (1–) 2 (–3), 7–12 cm long, 2–6 mm wide. Lower bract to 5 cm long, usually shorter than inflorescence. Inflorescence composed of 1 (–4) subsessile and 2–6 pedunculate, lax (laxer towards the base) clusters; clusters cylindrical, elongated, 8–14 mm long, 5–7 mm wide, 5–12-flowered usually with basal flowers ±remote; peduncles erect to erecto-patent, smooth. Tepals ±equal, glabrous, ±lanceolate, usually (3.3–) 3.5–4.0 mm long, stramineous to pale brown. Anthers 0.8–1.2 (–1.5) mm long; filaments 0.4–0.6 mm long; style 0.5–0.7 mm long; stigmas 1.5–2.3 (–2.8) mm long. Capsule oblong-ovoid, ±subacute, pale brownish; capsule segments 2.5–3.0 × 1.6–1.8 mm. Seeds narrowly ovoid, 1.1–1.3 mm long, 0.7–0.8 mm wide; appendage 0.4–0.5 mm long. 2n=12, fide H.Nordenskiöld, Hereditas 37: 336–337 (1951). |
