| Description: |
Plants usually 20–40 cm tall; rhizome long, ascending; stolons often present, short. Basal leaves numerous, usually 8–15 cm long, (1.7–) 2.5–4.0 mm wide; cauline leaves usually 2. Lower bract usually to 2 (–6) cm long, usually not exceeding the longest inflorescence branch. Inflorescence composed of a subsessile congested group of clusters to 1.5 × 1.0 cm, and 1–3 (–5) pedunculate clusters; pedunculate clusters usually more than (6–) 8-flowered, subcylindrical; peduncles straight, rarely flexuose, 1.5–7.5 cm long, often with secondary branches. Tepals equal or inner ones slightly longer, narrowly lanceolate, acuminate, usually (1.9–) 2.0–2.5 (–3.1) mm long, 0.6–0.9 mm wide; middle part straw-brownish; margins membranous to pale yellowish. Anthers (0.3–) 0.4–0.6 (–0.8) mm long; filaments 0.6–1.0 mm long; style 0.3–0.5 mm long; stigmas c. 1.0–1.7 mm long. Capsule oblong-obovoid, pale brown to greenish brown, acute, submucronate, equalling perianth or ±shorter; capsule segments 2.1–2.4 × c. 1.2 mm.
