| Description: |
Plants (5–) 10–14 (–25) cm tall. Basal leaves densely ciliate, usually 4–12 cm long,
0.5–2.0 (–2.5) mm wide; cauline leaf usually single, filiform, or absent; leaf tip obtuse and swollen, often with a small mucro or ±acute when young. Lower bracts 1–2, often single or reduced, usually patent, erecto-patent or reflexed, ±equalling or slightly exceeding inflorescence, to 1 (–2) cm long. Inflorescence 0.5–1.0 cm in diam. Bracteoles usually to 1 mm, sparsely ciliate above. Tepals c. 1.7–2.0 mm long. Anthers 0.4–0.6 mm long; filaments 0.3–0.5 mm long; style c. 0.3 mm long; stigmas c. 0.8–1.0 mm long. Capsule segments 1.7–1.8 × c. 1.1 mm. Seeds 0.8–1.0 mm long, 0.6–0.7 mm wide. 2n=12 [AL], fide H.Nordenskiöld, New Zealand J. Bot. 4: 187 (1966). |
