Description: Plants c. (6–) 13–18 (–20) cm tall, densely caespitose, forming small cushions; rhizome short; stolons absent. Basal leaves c. 4–8 cm long, 1.5–2.0 mm wide; cauline leaf single, c. 3.5 cm long. Basal bract c. 1.0–2.5 (–4.0) cm long. Inflorescence a single congested head 0.8–1.4 cm long, or 1–3 clusters shortly pedunculate; peduncles smooth, to c. 1.5 cm long.
