Taxon Notes: Ecology: Native herb. Andean II-III: bogs, grasslands, riversides, seasonally inundated areas. 2000-4500 m. Voucher: Wurdack 1719 (US) Lourteig (1991) indicates that two subspecies are found in Peru: subsp. fontana and subsp. chondrosperma.
