| Description: |
Plants usually 10–30 cm tall; stem usually c. 1 mm in diam. Basal leaves substantially shorter than stem, usually (2–) 8–14 (–25) cm long, (3–) 5–8 (–11) mm wide; cauline leaves 1–2, often in lower half of stem; all leaves of robust appearance, flat, distally canaliculate just below obtuse and dilated tip. Lower bract of variable length, often exceeding inflorescence, usually 3–5 mm wide. Inflorescence composed of 1 (–3) subsessile and (0–) 3–8 (–20) pedunculate clusters; clusters usually (6–) 8–12-flowered, ±ovoid, 6–8 × 5–7 mm; peduncles straight, usually (0.5–) 1.5–2.5 (–7.0) cm long; secondary branches rare, usually absent. Tepals ±lanceolate, usually dark castaneous-brown, (1.9–) 2.2–3.2 mm long; margins narrow, ±whitish-membranous. Anthers (0.3–) 0.5–1.1 (–1.3) mm long; filaments (0.3–) 0.4–0.7 (–0.8) mm long [anther:filament ratio (0.6–) 1.0–2.5 (–3.9)]; style (0.2–) 0.4–1.0 (–1.5) mm long; stigmas (1.2–) 1.8–2.4 (–3.1) mm long. Capsule brown to dark castaneous-brown, oblong-obovoid, acute, equalling or shorter than perianth; capsule segments (1.4–) 1.8–2.2 (–2.5) ×
