Search digital specimens at the Herbarium Berolinense

The Virtual Herbarium Berolinense now offers the online annotation system AnnoSys to annotate records. The link ("Annotate specimen") to AnnoSys is given in the top right corner of the specimen page, together with a link to the user guide for AnnoSys. Use the asterisk (*) as a wildcard (e.g. Calend* will find all names starting with Calend, Calendula officinalis* will find the names of subspecies etc. of Calendula officinalis, Ca*la will find Calendula and *officina* will find names with officina included etc.).
Please note that name searches search both accepted taxa and synonyms.

  

 


 

Search the whole database using one or two keywords (e.g. Peter Afrika will find all specimen collected by A.Peter within the Afrika excursions, Caracas will find any specimen with Caracas in the locality field).
Please do not use wildcards.

Currently, as a rule only basic information is captured in textual form; i.e. the barcode, the scientific name under which the specimen is stored, the modern country of origin (where it can be easily deduced), and the original designation of the collection site.
